If this is the case, I respectfully suggest you handle anything like
this that comes up in the future by just saying "cut out the off-topic"
digression;  in this case, you also took part in the digression itself,
which I erroneously believed meant you didn't mind people taking part
in it.

My apologies to all for the noise.  This is a great list, and I'm
grateful for it.

(FWIW, the mailman interface still has Colin as administrator.)
