  1. Create a folder in INBOX/Travel/Misc
  2. Put an email in that folder
  3. Move the folder 'Misc' in INBOX/
  4. 'Misc' still contains the email
  5. Move back 'test' folder in INBOX/Travels/

Did you mean 'Misc' here?

  6. 'Misc' folder is now empty :-/

As you noticed it seems to be related to the IMAP server, but you do not
mention which IMAP server.

I works flawlessly here with dovecot IMAP server.

Maybe it is a specific IMAP server that hardly anyone uses?
