Using Claws 3.11.1-100-gf3d3586 _without a pgp plugin_ I guess this is
the only way to do it. As already pointed out, I don't care about pgp
for emails anymore. However, I just wanted to point out, that the OP
should not save the signature, but get the key and this can be done by
command line, so software like Seahorse isn't needed. Sometimes search
engines provided by keyservers can be helpful too.

I guess that the pgp plugins provide what you described?!

IMO everybody should ask oneself
1. if they can trust each network of trust (don't get me wrong, you can
trust some networks!)
2. if excessive usage of signing makes sense, e.g. what is the purpose
of signing mails sent to a mailing list? For most receivers the key
anyway isn't trusted and protection unlikely is needed for open mailing
lists with open archives.

Ask yourself, I don't discuss this and I won't read an
explanation/reply ;).
