[Users] Folders not imported

I recently reinstalled Claws-mail for a fresh system installation.

My existing mailbox is $HOME/Mail, and contains several folders. Only
the Inbox was imported.  I tried just now to add a folder with the same
name as one of the missing ones, but it couldn't be done (makes sense.)
Can I temporarily move the missing folders elsewhere, create empty
folders and move the messages into the new ones?  Does an index have to
be created?
