It is a problem with IMAP SSL connections - see the 3.10.1-1
Debian changelog:

But, that indeed is the case also in 3.10.1 which I have backported, so
I guess in hindsight I shouldn't really have done it... 

Wheezy has only libetpan version 0.58-1.

My thought was to not backport any further versions of claws since I
would repeat the mistake of removing the libetpan requirement, and I
didn't want to make a libetpan backport, since I have no experience
with that package. So - if you would like a backport of a newer version
I would strongly recommend to get a backport first of the libetpan
package, and since Jessie hopefully isn't very far away, I thought
people could either keep the older Wheezy version, or just simply
upgrade to Jessie.
