Right now, Claws Mail is shutting down quickly, but this is very unusual (I have only known it once before). What I am very particular about is the compactness of the settings and the data, which I don't want to be scattered all over the operating system. That's why on Windows I very much prefer the self-contained portable versions of programs. It's also much easier to backup. I'm not suggesting this should be "fixed" or changed any way. Claws' wrapping algorithm is wonderful just the way it is, and it would be silly to tamper with that wonderful algorithm just to change an almost contrived edge-case. I'm just commenting on this behavior's existance. Regarding that issue the Claws Mail code is still not using the call(s) suggested by Hoa on it. AFAICS this only works for subfolders, but toplevel mailboxes cannot be rearranged that way. Tried (hard) with a 3-mailbox configured Claws Mail (MH, News and My Feeds) and was unable to move their positions in the folder list (using git version). The focus rectangle on rows is also broken (see attached picture) so don't really understand the bug title change, unless a separate bug report for the focus issue is preferred. Somebody could want to be notified of new messages during import to be sure the import is done correctly, specially if the number of messages is low or just because a less obtrusive notification method is being used. Then you need to allow to assign custom keyboard shortcuts (Configuration -> Preferences -> Other -> Miscellaneous -> Enable customisable keyboard shortcuts) Then hover to Tools -> Actions -> YOUR_ACTION (don't click on the action, just keep your mouse above it, so it is selected), and assign a keyboard shortcut to it (by pressing the shortcut you want to use, e.g. Ctrl+Shift+A). Now you have assigned a shortcut with an action, and whenever you press the shortcut the selected messages will be processed through this action (i.e. moved to the Archive folder). I've just upgraded to the latest version. Plugins were Bogofilter, Fancy and Notifications. Shutdown still slow with plugins loaded. With plugins unloaded shutdown is initially much faster but I'd say that's inconclusive at this stage as repeated opening and closing within a session does seem to result in quicker shutdown. Its when Claws has been open for a while and has received new mail that the slowness appears. I'd say in 90% of all use cases, a person wanting to repeat a search wants to repeat a search from four hours ago, not four months ago. Given then tree A/ ..B/ ....C/ D/ ..E/ When C is opened (showing the contents of the folder), and the context menu is invoked on A, collapsing will open A. Use Matched Criteria 'Flags', Flag 'replied' is 'not set'. You might also setting the 'Age' match, so you delete them after, say, 30 days or whatever. You might consider opening the folder properties and turning off 'Run processing rules at start-up' and 'Run processing rules when opening', so that you don't lose messages that you want to keep. If I click to see the reply a search is add and Claws "jumps" to the "Send" folder. 1. My bad, if I clear the search, all messages are visible again. 2. Wheezy has only libetpan version 0.58-1. My thought was to not backport any further versions of claws since I would repeat the mistake of removing the libetpan requirement, and I didn't want to make a libetpan backport, since I have no experience with that package. Looking through back posts today I learnt how to have multiple email addresses (Config.,Edit accounts etc.). I added a new email address and tried contacting myself through it - perfect. Now all my email is arriving in duplicate. How do I stop this please? I long time search this function, first i sylpheed and now play with the thought switch to claws and now try here find to. I read much lists, and is for me a good archive special when im in africa and connection not the best, then is hard when delete thousends of mails which become no answer and so old that they never become answer. You probably configured two accounts with the same receiving server, username and password, and are fetching mail via both of them. I suggest making one of these accounts a SMTP-only account, for the additional e-mail address. I have found claws ability to search remote folders to be a good interface to the capabilities in the IMAP protocol itself (which are limited). For local search, personally I've setup full-text desktop search and I like that approach - it searches not only every local email but everything else too (if you want). For 3 or 4 days I can't read mails from a POP3-server by the provider STRATO.DE, both on the windows-pc and on the raspi. The port used for POP3 is 995. It's only the error message "*** SSL handshake failed". Sending mails with claws-mail by the SMTP-server is OK. Reading mails with claws-mail from the POP3-server by the provider T-ONLINE.DE make not problems. My primary mail client is on my windows-pc a old eudora-installation. Under eudora all POP3-server (t-online and strato) works without problems. It's a problem from claws-mail for me. How can I solve this problem? I just point out that the attached mail is not a sufficient test-case for Claws Mail 3.11.1. That also implies that you may want to update and try to reproduce with that newer version, although there is no conclusion that only 3.10.1 would be affected. You may need to do more trouble-shooting to collect data and find out what's wrong with your runtime environment (i.e. the dependencies you've built with). I frequently get duplicate messages only in the two MS accounts and so I use the Tools->Delete Duplicated Messages feature to "clean up" about once a week. Just, for some reasons i want to rename the top level 'mailbox' folder. There are lots of subfolders and a huge mass of configured filters, and i like to know how to preserve especially the filter. Hi! I'm using claws-mail-3.11.1-2.mga5 on Mageia Linux 5/x86-64 (Cauldron) on either KDE 4 or JWM (And can test on other window managers). In the message list, when I press the "Subject" column header to sort by subject - only the Subject header has a sort direction designation arrow - either ascending or descending. However, if I press the "Date" header (which is usually what I want), then all columns get a sort direction designation arrow, which is annoying. I attached a screenshot to show this behaviour. I can create a shell command that will send all the selected messages in one gulp; however, I cannot figure out how to delete the messages when it completes. Can this be done or is it to complicated? The headers are identical between the two. No differences at all. This particular email is a confirmation that a bank transfer was scheduled. It's not being forwarded, copied, etc. to any other address, nor being delivered from multiple addresses. Again, this only happens on the two MS email accounts. I also have (set up in Claws) two AOL accounts, an ATT account, and one from my ISP. There seems to be something about the MS accounts that either 1) misidentify (on the mail server) read messages as new 2) cause Claws to misinterpret whether a message is read or not My guess is it's a MS issue, not Claws, but I wanted to bring it up here to see if it was something known. If I had to guess how often it happens, I'd estimate about 1-5% of all emails delivered. Not a lot. But enough that I may have to clean out 50 duplicate messages per month.
