We're getting a bit off-topic here, but my experience is that companies
are still not taking TLS certificates very seriously, apart from "must
show green bar in people's browser" requirement.

When my bank installed a new certificate for their internet banking
application, there was no announcement, and when I called to ask about
it, the helpdesk staff had no idea what I was even talking about (I'm
pretty sure they considered me to be some paranoid crackpot). It took
a while before my call was forwarded to someone with a clue, and I could
verify the fingerprint of the new certificate.
