You can if the message is local (POP). Not sure about IMAP. I do it all
the time.
Create an Action that uses your favorite text editor with a command
like this:
scite "%f"
scite is my favorite text editor.
Set a key combination if you want to execute it from the keyboard. I use
"Alt-F3". Or just run it from the Tools->Actions drop down menu.
Edit, make any changes you want to the email message and save it when
you're done. May have to do a refresh, but I don't usually. Claws will
show your changes.
Just don't mess with the raw email structure too much and put
something unexpected/illegal in it...
