[Users] Claws slowing down, help?

I see major slowdown displaying some messages.  They're not large, no
HTML or anything but plain text.  It seems to be random which ones will
be affected.

I looked at both tcpdump output and claws' own network log, and both
seem to indicate it's not a networking issue.  The entire message
arrives from the IMAP server within milliseconds - but then it takes
claws as much as 15 seconds to take the next step.  Here is an example:
