[Users] Saving emails

I have recently moved over from Thunderbird to Claws Mail, so I am
still learning. Sometimes I wish to save an email and store it away in
an archive. This is not often and usually refers to some personal
accounts.

In TBird I can open up the email and choose File --> Save As --> File. I
can then save the email on my HD. I note it is an .emi file. To check
I right click on the saved file and open with TBird. I then see the
email as it looked originally. If I try to open this file in Claws it
does not work.

In Claws I open the same email and choose File --> Save email as and I
can then save to my HD as before. I note that there is no file
extension. If I try to open it up with Claws I get an empty message
page, so I do not see the original mail at all.

So am I missing something here? I would like Claws to save the email
such that when I click on the saved file in my file manager and choose
to open it up with Claws I get to see the original, as in TBird. If
anyone can point me in the right direction I would be very grateful,

Neil
