I understand that.  But you seem to be missing my point;  How can Claws
Mail, v3.9.3 or greater, restore data that doesn't exist in a .bak
or .tmp file?

I/we can only hope that Mark has a sensible backup regimen that means he
has a recent copy of ~/.claws-mail that he can pull folderlist.xml from.
