Works fine here.  That is, I'm taken to the next unread message and
the unread count is reduced by 1 in the Folder list and the emboldening
in the Thread list is removed

If memory serves, I re-assigned n to be "Move to Next Unread" & <Shift>n
to "Move to Next Message".  Obviously, check you actually have the short
cut you think you have in the View -> Go to submenu.
