[Users] delete/spam actions are delayed

I woke up this am to a freshly (re)booted computer. Crashed during the
night.

Once I restarted claws (debian testing 3.9.3), I attempted to delete
misc email messages, but...

They were held until I moved to another folder , and then I was asked
about completing the "action" of deleting them.

What "setting" got borked during the night?
