Thank you Abhay, for the clarification.  Being able to move the
mailfolders is a start.

It is a pity that the mail settings and addressbook can't also be moved -
the scenario that I am preparing for is the possible theft of my laptop.

In such a case, my mailbox would probably still be accessible because the
username/password combination is in the windows 'domain' (accessible
through the windows).  I use IMAP, so having access to my mailbox gives
access to these files.  It is just 'personal' email but that is not the
point of keeping uninvited visitors at bay!

Perhaps in a future version there could be a configurable option to store
the config file / account information in a separate folder.

You can move the emails but not the addressbook or mail account
settings. They will always go in the default folder unless you
symlink them on either of the systems.

Close Claws Mail.
Move email to new folder.
Edit folderlist.xml to point to the new location of mailbox root.

The first three lines of my folderlist.xml shows:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<folderlist>
    <folder type="mh" path="D:/Mail/Office" sort="2" collapsed="0"
name="Mailbox">

I had edited the "path" value manually.
