Thanks. I have checked that site and as it stands it is not correct.

To clarify: apparently the behaviour depends on how you open the next
message. Using "Go to next unread message", the message gets marked as
read. It doesn't get marked as read when using "Go to next message"

That is not correct. Using 'go to next unread message' does *not* mark
it as read, either by using the menu or the keyboard shortcut. And just
using N to go to the next message does not mark it as read either.

I do realise that the option says 'in a new window' and not in a
separate window. However, for me, that should be irrelevant. If I have
opened a message so that I can read it then it should be marked as read.
