I just checked, and mine does the same if I shrink the claws window to around 850px wide. A couple possible fixes come to mind: remove some of the text from that bar (not sure if it's configurable at all, you may have to edit the source) or reduce the size of the font (but it's already pretty small). A more flexible option would be to make one side overlap the other with a background that would block out the other text. Then someone needs to decide which text is more important and should go on top. -- C. Chad Wallace, B.Sc. Thanks for opening an account for me. I've just tested the POP3 server and everything seems to work fine, from Linux and from Windows, using SSL, STARTTLS or plain-text connections. I used latest development versions of Claws Mail, but that code hasn't changed in ages, and your version's pretty recent too. Here's an example of what it looks like (and should look like) : * Compte 'onet.pl' : Connexion au serveur POP3 : pop3.poczta.onet.pl:995.. [12:23:12] POP3< +OK Onet server ready. [12:23:12] POP3> USER colinleroy at onet.pl [12:23:12] POP3< +OK [12:23:12] POP3> PASS ******** [12:23:17] POP3< +OK Logged in. You mentioned it works using telnet from the Linux command line, but did you try telnet from Windows ? I am wondering if you could have an antivirus trying to transparently proxy your mail connections, and somehow wrecking things. Can you try the following ? a) replace pop3.poczta.onet.pl with the IP address it should resolve to, which is 213.180.147.145, in your Claws Mail's account settings If that works, it is probably a proxying issue. If you have an antivirus, try to find and disable email protection, if this exists... To troubleshoot more, try from a Windows cmd.exe, the following: nslookup pop3.poczta.onet.pl (and check the responding nameserver's IP, too, if 127.0.0.1, this is weird). ping pop3.poczta.onet.pl (the requests should go to 213.180.147.145) telnet pop3.poczta.onet.pl 110 USER yourlogin at onet.pl PASS yourpass STAT QUIT Should get only +OK. For some reason, the guys at microsoft thought it'd be a good idea to not have telnet on recent Windows (Vista and + I think), so you'll first have to enable the telnet client using: pkgmgr /iu:TelnetClient (And for some reason, I had to issue that command twice for it to work). I wonder if this is somehow related to how the "Execute immediately ..." checkbox used to get unset. That's it, it seems. The openSUSE package is broken due to some none-too-clever selective applying of patches from the GIT development tree. Look here: https://build.opensuse.org/package/show/openSUSE:Factory/claws-mail The latest patch there, claws-mail-fix-address-quotes.patch, introduces a bug. This bug is fixed in our GIT tree, but whoever decided to apply that patch was not paying too much attention to what has been going on in GIT. My advice to whoever is in charge of this openSUSE package is, use the release packages only. So, if openSUSE users can downgrade from this latest rpm, then do it. with regards Paul -- It isn't worth a nickel to two guys like you or me, but to a collector it is worth a fortune -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed... The patch could have stayed and been fixed by an additional patch. As I said, that is already fixed. The original patch came from a recent addition to the GIT tree, which was very quickly fixed by another addition. But, anyway, better without this single patch than with it. And better to stick to release tarballs only. with regards Paul -- It isn't worth a nickel to two guys like you or me, but to a collector it is worth a fortune From colin at colino.net Sun Nov 10 16:38:47 2013 From: colin at colino.net (Colin Leroy) Date: Sun, 10 Nov 2013 16:38:47 +0100 Subject: [Users] Reply Problem In-Reply-To: <20131110112427.4e43ec16@thewildbeast> References: <20131109173314.423094b6.dan_arico@aricosystems.com> <20131110085406.374f3364@thewildbeast> <20131110121339.2afeb85a@localhost> <20131110112427.4e43ec16@thewildbeast> Message-ID: <20131110163847.26e0e2ba@mike> On 10 November 2013 at 11h24, Paul wrote: Hi, > > This issue has been resolved, see > > https://build.opensuse.org/package/view_file/GNOME:Apps/claws-mail/claws-mail.changes?expand=1 > > Wrong fix, imo. Message-ID: <20131111231405.5a93ead2@user-laptop> I like using both Mutt and Claws (IMAP) for the same email account, and I'm trying to make my Claws 'tags' work in Mutt too. I've come across a way of making tags for Mutt using the X-Label header: http://blitiri.com.ar/p/other/mutt-labels/ So I've made an Action in Claws (Edit message: gvim -f "%F"), which would allow me to add an X-Label header to all messages already tagged in Claws (e.g. Tags: example -> X-Label: example). The problem is, this new X-Label does not show when I view the given message on the server in Mutt. I suspect this is because I have only edited a 'local' version of that message on my own computer (~/.claws-mail/imapcache/). So my question: Is there a reasonably simply way to synchronize this local message with the version on the server (as one could expect using imap), or is there another way to mass-transfer existing Claws tags to the same messages on the server, for use in Mutt? If I am not totally mistaken then x-headers are normally stripped off either by the sending MTA or by the receiving MTA since X-something is treated local to the users MTA and by convention all X.something is non-standard which means there is no, not even implied, guaranty the these headers are transfered to the recipient. -- Hilsen/Regards Michael Rasmussen Get my public GnuPG keys: michael rasmussen cc http://pgp.mit.edu:11371/pks/lookup?op=get&search=0xD3C9A00E mir datanom net http://pgp.mit.edu:11371/pks/lookup?op=get&search=0xE501F51C mir miras org http://pgp.mit.edu:11371/pks/lookup?op=get&search=0xE3E80917 -------------------------------------------------------------- Health is merely the slowest possible rate at which one can die. -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed... You simply apply Tags in Claws to messages. When you do this to an IMAP message, the tag is stored on the IMAP server. E.g, I tag a message 'test' in Claws: [06:33:56] IMAP4> 11 UID STORE 10 +FLAGS.SILENT (test) [06:33:57] IMAP4< 11 OK Success You can see this in the network log. with regards Paul -- It isn't worth a nickel to two guys like you or me, but to a collector it is worth a fortune From claws at thewildbeast.co.uk Tue Nov 12 07:41:06 2013 From: claws at thewildbeast.co.uk (Paul) Date: Tue, 12 Nov 2013 06:41:06 +0000 Subject: [Users] Claws & Mutt, Tags? Where is this tag actually stored on the server? I suspect not directly in each message file? If it is in some separate system file specific to claws, I doubt I would be able to make Mutt interpret that file. That was why I liked the idea of adding an X-Label header (or some other 'tag') directly into each tagged message. But as long as such a modification is not synchronized with the version of the message on the server, this will not work. So the questions as I see it, is whether there is a relatively easy way to 'synch' modified message files upwards to the server? Here's a fetch from the IMAP server for one of the messages that I set the tag on previously: [18:56:39] IMAP4< * 3 FETCH (UID 10 FLAGS (test \Seen)) Note that in Claws' Network Log '<' indicates from the server to Claws and '>' indicates from Claws to the server. One of them is to exit the application. That option is greyed out on the file menu, but not in the trayicon menu. Pressing exit on the trayicon menu at this time does nothing. Ideally, pressing exit should exit, cancelling (or abandoning) any receive if necessary. If that is not practical then non-functional menuitems should be greyed out. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. This makes communication with e.g. Gmail less secure than it could be. I have manually updated the files with a more recent version of GnuTLS and claws-mail for windows automatically started using TLSv1.2 on supported servers (e.g. Gmail). No other configuration changes were necessary. Upgrading GnuTLS would also eliminate some known attacks against TLSv1.0, such as BEAST. I suggest a new version of Claws-mail for windows is released with upgraded version of GnuTLS. I noticed that several of the DLLs included with the windows version of claws are severely outdated and contain security vulnerabilities - for example the libraries that provide curl, gnupg, png, gnutls and zlib have had security vulnerability fixes that are not included in the distribution of claws for windows. There are also some other libraries that have outdated versions. Since this is something that has nothing to do with the source code and is related to the build environment, there is no patch that I can submit - I can however provide some advice if you need it.
