I think I tried that originally (my efforts for that migration started
already two years ago, can't remember all details of my journey any
more :-) but I guess that I had issues with "Mail Groups" which did not
make it into Claws properly.
By the way, I tried many other MUAs address books before making the
migration decision and Claws was one of the few which allowed to change
a contact that was part of a "Mail Group" and the change showed up in
both the plain contact and as part of the Mail Group (i.e. most address
books just "copy" the mail address when you add it to the Mail Group
instead of "linking" to the base contact - oh my!).
What was also a reason to do it myself was that I wanted the "Tab
Expansion" in Claws to work with "first name", "last name" and the mail
address itself. This is not possible out of the box, not all fields are
searched for when doing the "Tab Expansion"...
Another reason was that the Address-Book in Kmail supported many many
fields and they were not used uniformly. I took the chance to tidy up.
Thanks for the hint anyway :-)
Nicolas
