I also noticed this loss of information after a crash:
- read status of new messages is lost
- replied-to status is lost
- the messages list position is reset to the top (IIRC)

This happened to me yesterday, several hours after I had read the messages, so
both claws-mail and the filesystem had plenty of time to write the information
to disk.

OS: Arch Linux 64 bit
Filesystem: ext4 (with commit=30)
Claws-mail: 3.9.1
Metadata handling: Safer
