Summary: Ldap write support is not well documented; some
                    behavior is unintuitive.
           Product: Claws Mail
           Version: 3.8.0
          Platform: PC
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: NEW
          Severity: trivial
          Priority: P3
         Component: UI/Address Book/LDAP
        AssignedTo: users at lists.claws-mail.org
        ReportedBy: mello73 at gmail.com

Its difficult to obtain information about LDAP write support, apart looking at
past changelogs.
If you change an existing ldap addressbook entry, modification are not sent
immediately to server, but only when you close the whole (global) claws-mail
addressbook. So if you do the following:
change entry and redo a search (without closing addressbook)to look if entry is
changed, the information retrieved from the server are still the old one and
you could think that claws-mail have not changed the entry at all (i thinked
that ldap write was not supported!); at the end you loss all changes made.
So when you change some entry the first things to do is CLOSE global
addressbook windows so that changes are sent to server.
One more little thing, if you create a new ldap entry without email address (i
know its a little stupid) the message is not so clear (Distinguished Name (dn)
is missing); maybe something as "please specify an email address" or similar is
better.
Finally claws-mail is really marvellous!!! Go on this way, and thanks for all!!

Bye, Mello.
