I'm very glad for the tip that you can set a folder to not check for
new mail with IMAP. I have about 50 folders that are for old stuff and
never change. These folders are under two superfolders. 

What would be REALLY nice would be if I could collapse the
superfolders, set the properties to not check email, and have that
setting recursively apply to everything under the superfolder, perhaps
with a "make it recursive?" dialog box.
