I think the current folder list appearance could be enhanced by a small change.

Actually folders with new msgs are displayed with with bold letters. This can
be somewhat confusing for the eyes and/or orientation. It gets worse when
colors are applied, still more when using several accounts. 

IMO displaying the folder names in bold and/or colored is unnecessary. Who
wants to see if new msgs have arrived could then enable to show the new or
unread message counter.

As an alternative I suggest considering to show the mailbox names in bold
letters. I also think showing (IMAP4|POP3) is unnecessary, additional text only
confuses more. The OP should know what kind of account he configured.
