[Users] Opening link in Firefox

I have Claws Mail 3.7.1.0 and Firefox 9.0 on Fedora 16, x86_64, both
installed from the repositories. I have used both for many years,
although I switched to Claws Mail from Sylpheed only a couple years ago.
It used to be that when I clicked on a link in an e-mail it would open
the link in a new tab in Firefox. Now it opens the link in the most
recently used tab in Firefox, even if that tab is being used for
another web page. This means that I have to use the back arrow to get
back the previous page that was in that tab, open a new, blank tab,
then go back to Claws Mail and click on the link again (or copy and
paste) in order to get the link in the new tab.
I don't know if the problem is in Claws Mail or in Firefox. I want to
restore the previous action where Claws Mail would always open a new
tab before opening the link. Does anyone know where to start
looking for how to do this?
