I have 8 accounts configured under Claws, and only 1 account (Account 7) gives
the described issue. All accounts use the same SMTP, namely my default accounts
settings. 

Account 7 is special and doesn't seem to comply to expected behavior. Account 7
has a port setting of 587 for the SMTP, while other accounts use 25, beside the
default account which is set to use 587. If I don't set the SMTP port under
Account 7 I'm not able to retrieve e-mail and get a time-out error message. 

All other settings are the same for the rest. So I don't see why Account 7 is
acting up and messing around with my settings. 

The only way around it appears to be setting Account 7 as default account...
