Hi John,

So it's blocking on gvim. I thought gvim ran nonblockingly (nice word,
huh?), but apparently not.

Try making your editor gvim & instead of just gvim. Or maybe nohup gvim
&

Perhaps you can make a shellscript to run gvim and return.
