You are assuming that everyone wants to use GNOME 3, and that it will become
the dominant desktop environment. A lot of people are very upset with GNOME
over the current direction of the desktop and it may fail to gain enough
support to continue.

Please don't encourage the removal of GTK2 support at this early stage in the
life of GNOME 3.
