Hi Stefan
It behaves as before,the lowercase T juse is not printed, I renamed .claws-mail
and that folder just gets remade on startup, so where is it getting its settings from, all the filter settings have 
gone, which I should be able to reinstall from the backed up old .claws-mail.
I've managed to clobber the scanning through of the google all mail folder by unsubscribing before fetching mail. as it always starts offline.
Where else does claws store its settings apart from .claws-mail ?
