How claws mail treats and deals with new and unread messages? It
is not working as i expect.

In the beginning of this month, at 2021/12/04, i started a
discussion about the notification plugin. It is unsolved. And it
seems the problem is with me. Well, it is not. Maybe it is
something involving the use of simultaneous mail clients for a
single account. That was not clearly said by anyone who seems to
know CM better.

Claws Mail has been left open since the last message of the
discussion i mentioned. Basically no change, probably. Today, a
new thing happened. I checked CM window, and saw a "new" (for me!)
message in an account that i only have configured in it! For this
account, CM says: "0 new", "1 unread", "xxx total". But i have
never seen that message! And saw no notification either! I have
the system notification icon showing. But it also just repeats "0
new messages", and the number of unread messages is summed with
the other accounts unread messages. I do not care about them, most
of the time. I care about "new" (for me!) messages.

So, i decided to make a new test, similar to the test i did at
some point in the other discussion. This account is only in CM, it
should work. I would see a CM notification, and would see inbox
folder with a "new" (for CM) message. So, i prepared an external
email to be sent to my account. After preparing this, i did not
pass even close to CM window. I just used work spaces with other
programs running. The account checks for new messages every
minute. I decided to wait for 10 minutes. So, i played a little
game.

Minutes passed, no notification appeared on screen. Until today,
the only notifications i saw are for draft messages being composed
in the account i have in Thunderbird too. No inbox notification.
And i do not see all the kinds of notifications i configured the
plugin to make. I see just the billboard thing, fixed in the
screen for some seconds, and after that, nothing is left - if i do
not see it, i will have no "hint" of a "new" (for me!) message
being arrived. I checked CM window. This account, then, had 0 new,
2 unread, and [xxx] total messages.

In a completely "friendly" way, it was said that i did not
configure the notification plugin correctly. So, i checked:

1) It was, and is still loaded.

2) Notification plugin in system tray enabled.

3) "Include just marked folder" is checked, but the inbox for
this account is checked too.

4) LCD disabled.

5) Command enabled with a command i chose.

6) Notification window is enabled, for 5 seconds.

7) The next kind of notification is enabled too. I chose a medium
fast speed for it; max message number of 100; width 600 pixels;
make it (?) fixed; 2 colours chosen. This is the kind of
notification i see for the drafts i mentioned.

8) Disabled global shortcuts.

And this is where i ask myself the subject of this message:

How claws mail treats and deals with new and unread messages?
Where am i missing something? Can you help me to find it?

Thank you
