Dear Claws-mailers,

I have enjoyed claws-mail for over a decade and I think it is the best
e-mail client in the world.

About a year ago my university switched to O365 with OAuth2 and does not
want to allow claws-mail as a client. Only Thunderbird is allowed (for
Linux users like me) and I really can't convince the IT department to
make an exception.

For a year I have tried and tested Thunderbird but in my opinion it is
too slow (on my old hardware) and lacks many claws features which I have
become used to over the years. So I would really like to get back to claws.

I have been searching the internet for more than a year and I can't find
any working solution to read/send e-mail with claws under Linux in an
O365 environment.

So please, is there anyone who got claws working with OAuth2 and IMAP in
O365? Is there a way to configure claws as to make O365 believe that I
use Thunderbird? Alternatively I could forward all my work e-mail to a
gmail account. Has anyone been successful at using claws with gmail
IMAP? I believe one also has to do it via OAuth2 nowadays.

Thanks in advance for any help or advice,

Philippe
