more information is needed from you. For example:

Did you just verify this by seeing weird looking characters?
Where did you see these characters?
Did the password fail after this when interacting with mail servers?


I will close this as WORKSFORME now, as that is the case, and because you are
using a throwaway email address and may never check it.

Please re-open it with more information.
