Ouch, Part I.  You're right.  If I maximize the window, then I see the
full complement of buttons down the right hand side:  New, Edit, Delete,
and Copy at the top; and Up, Down, and Close at the bottom.

Ouch, Part II.  Why didn't I think of that sooner?  I switched to a
HiDPI system about a year ago, and had (and have) to fiddle with all
sorts of things to get an adequate experience.  Some applications
respect the X server's DPI setting, some don't, and many applications
and web pages continue to be sub-optimal.

(apparently the only bug containing the word HiDPI) is from 2016-12-26
and relates to HiDPI displays on Windows.  That bug talks about GTK4
(vaporware as far as I'm concerned), and looks like a "won't fix."

How's the port to GTK3 coming?  ;-)
