Regarding the OP's goal IMO the best approach is what Brad and I
mentioned, to delete or ban the mails on the server. I don't know what
features are provided by gmail.com and what ever else the OP might
use, but usually it's not an issue to at least ban mails that
always are sent from the same email address, smarter filters sometimes
aren't provided or they don't work. I wouldn't expect reg
ex/wildcards, resp. "if ... contains, then ..." options do work. This
likely isn't an issue when running your own server, but when using an
ISP's email service the available filters usually is weak and buggy.
