What I _expected_ to see: Highlight first message in thread, select "Ignore Thread" and every message currently in that thread, and any that are received later will be 'ignored'. Obviously, if anybody breaks threading or responds to to a digest post on the same subject, 'ignored' status won't be applied. What I _actually_ see: Highlight first message in thread, select "Ignore Thread" and all messages in CM are marked 'ignored' but *new* messages in the same thread are not always marked as ignored, so I have to mark them again. I should mention that there are messages in these threads I don't receive because the authors of those messages are deleted at the server (killfiled) so I never see them - however, threading is not broken as a result. -- Regards _ / ) "The blindingly obvious is / _)rad never immediately apparent" I am alone there's nobody there I Look Alone - Buzzcocks -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed... Yes. I've also since discovered that at least one person is using an MUA that breaks threading (no references or in-reply-to headers) so that also is a contributing factor. Probably, but that needs migration code not to lose configuration of current users, which also needs some testing to ensure correct migration. I took the lazy way: no migration code as minutes before are still minutes after upgrading, simpler widget management and just a minimal CPU overhead when calculating time. The other option is to just require all users to reconfigure their settings, but that looks even less desirable than migration code to me :) -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. For a seamless integration of encrypted mails it's important for me to have some kind of office function for encrypted mails: receiving encrypted mails: decrypt and store as plain text, but marked with the encryption flag indicating "was encrypted/reply should be encrypted" sending encrypted mails: encrypt and store copy-to-self as plain text, but marked with the encryption flag indicating "was sent encrypted" It's much like in the old paper work days, when you removed the paper envelope from a letter and put it into the file folder and the carbon copy that was created on the typewriter. I managed to get this office function approximately by coding some bash scripts, but that's not a seamless integration itself into claws-mail. > http://public.abades.dynu.net/code/ So a proper integration of this office function into the GPG plugin would be better. I think this would be an improvement for better user acceptance of encryption. claws-mail would be the 1st MUA to offer such a sophisticated PGP office function. AFAIK no other MUA offers a similar one. My scripts are just a workaround and provide only a basic office function. It could offer much more sophisticated functions e.g. attaching the original GPG-Mail or information about the public key it was encrypted/signed with. Neither is it a problem of the other provider ( gmx.net ) because on another computer the files are received without any problem. To make it even more complicated, it holds the same version of Claws that gives this error under MINT. No error under Ubuntu-Studio although both Mint and Ubuntu( studio ) should behave identical as far as I know. Searching for a solution I stumbled upon very similar problems but those where all under Windows. Still it might be helpful finding a solution. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. Hi Frank, I think I have found the bug, and am fixing it for the next release, but just to be sure that it's the same bug you're seeing, can you please run Claws Mail in debug mode? You can do so by adding a --debug switch either to the desktop shortcut, or executing this from a text console (cmd.exe): "c:\program files (x86)\claws mail\claws-mail.exe" --debug Then, in Claws Mail, try one unsuccesful download like you described, exit Claws Mail, and send me resulting debug file, which should be in c:\users\yourusername\appdata\local\temp\claws-win32.log. "PLATFORM_WIN32" is something we define ourselves, based on our own checks. Look at configure.ac, around line 113 and below. You have to write your own check - probably something about "darwin" or "osx" being in the host triplet string, similar to how we check for Windows. Based on that, you can set PLATFORM_WHATEVERYOUWANT variable (but name it sanely, please :) ), and use it in Makefile.am and elsewhere. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. I attach the log file. (Some > Windows users may need to show hidden folders to see > c:\users\yourusername\appdata) Thank you for the log. It seems like I do indeed see the same bug. The problem is that the plugin is calling bsfilterw.exe without a full path, and since the folder where the program is is not in user PATH variable, this fails. There is also another problem with bsfilterw.exe program itself - it doesn't follow standard Windows rules about where to look for DLL files, so I will have to change the plugin code to call the program in a certain way (use full path, set proper working dir beforehand). I should have it fixed in time for next release, which is due in a few weeks. > I'd like to set two_line_vertical = 0 to show only one line in three column > layout, but I can't find clawsrc. Is it not available in Windows? Of course it is, you can find it at C:\Users\Frank\AppData\Roaming\Claws-mail\clawsrc (beginning of your debug log also shows this path). Using a timeout of 120 seconds rather than 60 seconds makes no difference. Claws downloaded from this server yesterday with the current account settings (which are the same as those in Thunderbird). Please feel free to shout at me - if you think that I deserve it. First, I am guessing that the mailing list is the place for this, rather than adding to the bug report. You have lost me. There might be two different problems confusing things. Problem one is that there are such things as SSL certificates for URLs that have wild cards in them. AIUI these are dangerous and facilitate phishing scams. Problem two is that there can be multiple valid certificates for a single non-wildcarded URL, either issued by different authorities or even the same authority. To the best of my understanding this situation offers no security risk, just an inconvenience. Are you referring to, skip_ssl_cert_check Disables the verification of SSL certificates when set to '1'. Default value is '0'. or to, unsafe_ssl_certs Allows Claws Mail to remember multiple SSL certificates for a given server/port when set to '1'. This is disabled by default ('0'). The name "unsafe_ssl_certs" suggests that it refers to SSL certs for wildcarded URLs (problem one), but the text describes problem two, which in my limited understanding is a non-problem. Hi Frank, I'm sorry, but I have no idea what goes wrong. The debug log you sent suggests that Claws Mail starts to download the single message that your POP3 server had waiting, but never finishes, and the connection times out. Perhaps the server doesn't send the trailing "." that means end of a message, so Claws Mail keeps on waiting for more lines, until the timeout. It's hard to figure out anything more without physically sitting at your computer. Since you're using unencrypted POP3 connection (quite rare today), you could: 1. Try a manual connection using any telnet program you can find, e.g. putty.exe. Just connect to your server, and enter all the commands you see in network log as outgoing ("POP3>"), supplying your password instead of *****, if course. 2. Try using program like Wireshark to capture complete network traffic from a POP3 session where Claws Mail times out again, and see if there's something wrong or missing. Fifteen accounts, all POP3, claws 3.13.2, Linux Mint 17.3 64bit and ALL accounts on the same server of which I am the administrator/tech support etc. (it's a VPS running Exim on Centos 6.5). Sometimes it will go down the accounts and timeout every alternate one (the first one times out second okay or vice-versa) and so on. OR It may timeout the first then collect from the next two or three, timeout on one or two and so on. On the timeouts there is nothing logged at the server to show that it has even tried to connect. OR It may timeout two or three, connect to the fourth one, timeout a few more extract from today's network log attached I have tested with ALL my local machines powered down, various devices such as smartphones tablets, one Linux box running bittorrent with various Linux distros, a local web development server, android tablet connected to Planet Rock radio stream with no significant differences noted. The same accounts have been tested on an Android tablet connected via local wireless, in the same sequence using POP3 and leaving messages on the server, all went through with no problem. So until now I have just put it down to something hinky on my machine. Thanks Chris Hirst -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed... I posted this BUG on 4/11/16 - and it appears that no one is dealing with it. I'm a strong supporter of Claws (including multiple $ donations) - but for some reason, no one is owning this issue.
