[Users] claws mail question

Thanks all.
  This email should be plain text. Sorry.

  The intent is that both Linux and Windows apps are looking at the same
Mail data folders. I don't want to have to sync two locations, but more
of the example of two distros, looking at the same data in a dual boot
system. The reason is that we have a history of emails in the existing
folders. I want to keep that and whether booted to windows or linux,
the downloaded emails end up in the same place. Hopefully this makes
sense.

  The partition was set up as FAT32 so both windows and linux could
access the files

  I copied the existing Mail folders (and also claws-mail) into that
location

  I can set up preferences in each, so that is not a big issue. The
value is in the mail.

  Both Windows Vista and Linux Ubuntu are running Clawsmail 3.12.0

  I don't see anything that is pointing to folder locations in
folderlist.xlm
  The idea of changing a file like this is what I am looking for.

Thanks and hoping for a great solution,
Mike

Hi,

this is the right place. Please always mention what version of Claws
you're using, the menu Help > About should show you. Also mention what
kind of accounts you're using, POP or IMAP. Next time don't send a HTML
formatted email to the mailing list, just send plain text.
I don't know Workspace Webmail 5.16.0, but those web mailer interfaces
usually provide an option to switch to plain text.

I can't help you with windows, but somebody else most likely could.

Even if it shouldn't be able to do this, you could use links.

I'm sharing claws' preferences and POP accounts among two Linux
installs on the same machine.

[rocketmouse at archlinux ~]$ ls -hAl /mnt/moonstudio/home/weremouse/|grep
mnt
lrwxrwxrwx 1 rocketmouse users 43 Oct 6 22:57 .bogofilter ->
/mnt/archlinux/home/rocketmouse/.bogofilter
lrwxrwxrwx 1 rocketmouse users 43 Oct 6 22:57 .claws-mail ->
/mnt/archlinux/home/rocketmouse/.claws-mail
lrwxrwxrwx 1 rocketmouse users 42 Oct 6 22:57 Claws Mail ->
/mnt/archlinux/home/rocketmouse/Claws Mail

Sharing a folder between Windows and Linux isn't an issue, but I don't
know if the Claws' Windows and Linux versions could share the same
preferences or POP account mails. Perhaps you should use IMAP instead of
POP accounts, IMAP allows sharing mails even between different mailers.

Ralf
