John, 

You are using CM 3.9.3 on Ubuntu 14.04.3 LTS.  

By far the easiest way to upgrade to CM 3.11.1 is to visit 

<https://launchpad.net/~claws-mail/+archive/ubuntu/ppa?field.series_filter=trusty>
Watch out for any line wrap.  It is still a year out of date, but
better that what you have.  It is what I have done.  Then I will
upgrade to 16.04 LTS when it comes out - although it is already a
version behind.
