The CPU is a 2.1GHz dual-core, but ondemand usually running
at 1GHz.

Folders total: 29403, 12582, 8119 and several others with less than
8000 mails. Evolution folders contain more than 84900, 42000 etc.

No DE, just the WM openbox. No resource hungry apps are running.
