            Bug ID: 3451
Summary: Allow selection of the encryption algorithm for S/Mime
    Classification: Unclassified
           Product: Claws Mail
           Version: 3.11.1
          Hardware: PC
                OS: All
            Status: NEW
          Severity: enhancement
          Priority: P3
         Component: Plugins/Privacy
          Assignee: users at lists.claws-mail.org
          Reporter: jan at willamowius.de

S/Mime supports a variety of encryption algorithms, but 3DES seems to be the
most used, but is getting rather old and insecure.

Currently the encryption algorithm can be set for all mails with the
cipher-algo switch in gpgsm.conf (eg. "cipher-algo AES256").

It would be helpful if Claws would have a preference setting which algorithm to
use.
