I'm using the same version of ubuntu, I don't have any problems, so it must be
down to your particular usage. (Which is why you didn't have much of a
response, I suppose: no-one else gets this problem)

What are your settings?
I guess this is self-compiled?
If so, what version of GnuTLS are you building with?
