[Users] GData plugin problem

Am using Claws 3.8.0 on LMDE with GData 0.3. When typing names into the
address field of a new email I am not seeing anything being displayed
from my Google account contacts.

Checking the Network Logfile shows the following:

* GData plugin: Starting async authentification
* GData plugin: Authentificated
* GData plugin: Starting async contacts query
*** GData plugin: Error querying for contacts: A required property of a
  <entry/gd:email> element (@address) was not present.

Can anyone help with how I can see the contacts list?
